2 c. sugar
5 eggs, beaten
2 c. cream
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. cubed bread (French or Italian)
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. butter, softened
1 c. chopped pecans
Sauce:
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 egg, beaten
2 tsp. vanilla
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together sugar, eggs and cream. Add vanilla. Pour over cubed bread and let sit for 10 minutes.
In another bowl, mix brown sugar, butter and pecans. Pour bread into a greased 9 x 13 pan and sprinkle brown sugar mix over the top. Bake 40 minutes.
for the sauce:
mix together ingredients over medium heat and stir until sugar is melted. Serve over bread pudding.
