I don't like store bought BBQ sauce so I thought I'd give this a try. The kids really liked it. I used drumsticks, which Marshall doesn't care for because he only likes all white meat, and cooked them in the oven, but the grill would probably taste the best.
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tsp. butter
1 c. ketchup
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. chili sauce
2 Tbsp. worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp. celery seed
1 Tbsp. mustard
1/2 tsp. salt
2 dashes hot sauce
chicken
Saute garlic in butter until tender. Add next 8 ingredients. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Baste chicken with sauce while cooking.
