Marinara Sauce


I had leftover spaghetti for lunch, since I am not a sandwich person and it actually tasted better the next day. We added ground turkey to make it meaty.

1/4 c. olive oil
2 small onions, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
2 celery stalks, finely chopped
2 carrots, peeled and finely chopped
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
2 (28 oz) cans crushed tomatoes
2 dried bay leaves
1 Tbsp. Italian seasoning

Heat oil over Medium high heat and saute onion and garlic until tender. Add celery, carrots, salt and pepper and saute until soft. Add tomatoes and bay leaves and simmer uncovered 1 hour. Season with Italian seasoning.
